Hyles-Anderson College is pleased to announce a new ESL program for non-native English speakers.1
- Courses will focus on passages from the Bible as well as other selected books in order for students to gain both exceptional reading ability and also learn Biblical truths.
- Classes will focus on evangelical conversation for speaking comprehension and sermons for listening comprehension.
- Students will enjoy learning how to speak well while learning how to give the Gospel in English.
- Students will focus on writing about Biblical passages and Christian articles.
- Students will be taught by qualified ESL instructors.
Program Summary:
- This is a two-year program for students that score a 40 – 60 on the TOEFL iBT. Therefore, this course is for ESL learners at an intermediate level to low-advanced level.
- Students will take 12 credits per semester that focus on improving reading, speaking, listening, and writing skills for both academic proficiency and Biblical knowledge.
- Upon completion of the ESL program, students will be able to enroll in regular mainstream Hyles-Anderson College classes without having to retake the TOEFL test.
- Any foreign student or non-native English speaker that scores over a 61 on the TOEFL iBT test may take certain of the ESL classes to improve in a specific area of English.
