Scholarships

Overview and Qualifications

  • All applications must be submitted to the Admissions Office no later than four weeks before the semester begins.
  • Scholarships and discounts are not applicable to summer school classes or online classes.
  • Completion of the normal admissions process is a prerequisite before scholarships are awarded.
  • If an applicant chooses one of the monthly payment plans, scholarships and discounts will be applied to each payment equally.
  • Scholarships and discounts are non-transferrable and may not exceed the total amount of tuition for any student.
  • Scholarships and discounts cannot be combined; however, one supplemental scholarship may be combined with one other scholarship.
  • All scholarships and discounts are subject to final approval by the college and subject to change without notice.

Pastor’s Child Scholarship

  1. This is a base scholarship and may be combined with one other supplemental scholarship.
  2. The applicant must be the child of the senior pastor.
  3. The applicant’s father must be a senior pastor employed full-time by a church of like faith.
  4. The applicant must be a new or transfer student.
  5. The scholarship would cover 100% of normal tuition cost for up to 18 credits of resident college classes.
  6. Class fees, registration fees, and room and board will still be the responsibility of each student.
  7. The applicant must be an on-campus resident student for each semester the scholarship is awarded.
  8. The applicant must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 in order to qualify for the scholarship for each subsequent semester to the initial semester enrolled. The applicant could regain the scholarship by meeting GPA minimum the next semester.
  9. The maximum number of semesters this scholarship can be applied is eight.
  10. The scholarship is applied each semester at registration once all requirements have been met and verified.

Christian Worker’s Scholarship

  1. This is a base scholarship and may be combined with one other supplemental scholarship.
  2. The applicant’s parent must be the head of household who is employed full-time in Christian service.
  3. The total value of this scholarship is not to exceed $1,000.
  4. This scholarship is for first-year students and is divided equally between the first two semesters enrolled.
  5. Each scholarship recipient must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits.

Valedictorian / Salutatorian Scholarship

  1. This is a base scholarship and may be combined with one other supplemental scholarship.
  2. The applicant must be the valedictorian or salutatorian of a high school with a minimum graduating class of five.
  3. The applicant must have a minimum ACT score of 21.
  4. This scholarship is for first-year students and is divided equally between the first two semesters enrolled.
  5. The total value of this scholarship is not to exceed $1,000.
  6. Each scholarship recipient must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits.

Church Multi-New Student Scholarship

  1. This is a supplemental scholarship and may be combined with one other scholarship.
  2. This scholarship applies to three or more new students who are members of the same church.
  3. Pastor must verify eligibilty for this scholarship.
  4. This scholarship will be awarded after registration has been completed by all participating students.
  5. This scholarship will be applied beginning with the next scheduled school bill after registration.
  6. Each participant must be registered as a full-time residence hall student (12-18 credits).
  7. The total value of each student’s scholarship will not exceed $1,000 equally divided between the first two semesters.

Church Matching Scholarship

  1. This is a supplemental scholarship and may be combined with any other scholarship.
  2. This scholarship is based solely on available funds.
  3. Any new or transfer student whose church donates up to $500 to his/her school bill can apply for a matching scholarship from the scholarship fund.
  4. Each church donation is subject to approval from the Admissions Office and Finance Office as a legitimate church donation.
  5. The college matching amount will be applied equally to all four billing installments; the amount from the church will be applied to the first billing installment.
  6. This scholarship can be combined with any scholarship up to the total amount of tuition.
  7. Each scholarship recipient must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits.

ACT for Excellence Scholarship

  1. This is a supplemental scholarship and may be combined with one other scholarship.
  2. This scholarship has three levels of award based on ACT score of applicant.
  3. An applicant with an ACT score of 23-25 qualifies for a $500 scholarship.
  4. An applicant with an ACT score of 26-29 qualifies for a $1,000 scholarship.
  5. An applicant with an ACT score of 30-36 qualifies for a $1,500 scholarship.
  6. These scholarships are awarded to first-year students and are divided equally by semesters.
  7. Each scholarship recipient must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits.

On Campus Employment

  1. Students may apply for on-campus employment, which is awarded based on availability.
  2. On-campus employment would cover residence hall staff positions, online college positions, as well as other departments as needed.
  3. These students would be classified as hourly employees of Hyles-Anderson College.
  4. An applicant for on-campus employment who submits his/her application by May 15 and is approved will receive a letter of position availability by June 30.
  5. An applicant who submits his/her application after May 15 but before July 1 and is approved will receive a letter of position availability by July 15.
